Who we are

Solar Strive introduces homeowners who want solar to a licensed installation partner, and rewards the community connectors who make those introductions. It does not sell, permit or install solar itself, and it never gives a professional opinion about anyone’s property. Solar Strive (“we”, “us”) operates solarstrive.com and is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions and requests go to hq@solarstrive.com. Solar Strive is a PlebMoe portfolio project and stands alone: its own accounts, database and codes.

What we collect

  • Your consultation request — your full name, email address, phone number, postal code, property type, your monthly electricity bill, whether you own the home, and whatever you write in the message box. We also keep the network address you sent it from and your browser’s identifying string, to make the form expensive to abuse.
  • Your account and your field-work records — if you sign up to do field work: your email address, the display name you choose, your phone number if you give one, where and when you can work, what experience you describe, and the exact wording of the terms you accepted, stored with the version number so nobody has to guess later what was on screen.
  • Prospect records you submit about a business — the business’s name and type, its address and map location, the contact person and details you were given, and what you noted about the surface where materials would go. If you attach a photo, the picture itself is never stored — the server measures it, takes a fingerprint of it, notes its file type and filename, and then discards the image.
  • Referral and placement codes — the codes you mint, the code a visitor arrived carrying, and a record that a scan or a request happened against it. A scan record is a count, not a payment and not an amount owed to anybody.
  • Connections — the social handles and contact channels some members keep for the wider ecosystem live at plebmoe.com under its policy, not here. That feature is switched off on this site today and the page says so.

Sign-in works by single-use links sent to your email address. We never ask for, store or want a password. Field-work and referral accounts sign in by emailed link; no passwords. Asking for a consultation needs no account at all.

Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To do what you asked — connect you with the installation partner, run your account, record the field work you did. Legal basis where the GDPR applies: performance of a contract, or steps you asked us to take before one.
  • To contact you about a consultation you requested — by phone, text or email, at the details you gave. Legal basis: your consent, recorded word for word with your request, and withdrawable at any time.
  • To keep the site working and safe — abuse prevention, security logs, understanding how the site is used in aggregate. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a working service, balanced against your rights.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting, and responding to lawful requests.

We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Cookies and your device

Those two are the whole list. Both are set by us and readable only by this site, and nothing is kept in your browser’s local or session storage. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts — no page-view counter, no pixel, no session recorder. Even the fonts are served from this domain, so loading a page tells nobody else you were here. You can clear all of it by signing out or clearing your browser storage.

AI and automated processing

No information you submit is processed by an AI system. There is no model behind the forms, the calculator or the dashboard.

  • AI tools help us write and maintain the site. A person reviews what is published.

AI systems make mistakes. Where an AI-produced result touches something that matters to you, a person is accountable for it, and you can ask us to review it by emailing hq@solarstrive.com. Our terms say more about how we use AI and what we do not rely on it for.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. It reaches only the service providers that run the site for us, under contract, and only as much as they need:

  • Vercel — hosts the site and keeps ordinary server request logs, as any web host does.
  • Neon — runs the database this site’s own records are stored in.
  • Resend — delivers the email we send — sign-in links, confirmations, and the notifications that tell a person a request arrived.
  • Mapbox — draws the map tiles on the pages that show a map, including the home page. Your browser fetches those tiles directly, so opening one of those pages tells Mapbox your network address. Nothing you type is sent to them.
  • plebmoe.com — the wider ecosystem’s lead ledger. Every consultation request is recorded there as well as here, under plebmoe.com’s own privacy policy.
  • Powur — the licensed installation partner. A consultation request is passed to them so they can contact you about it — which is exactly what the consent box on the form asks you to agree to.

The hand-off to Powur is the point of a consultation request, not a side effect of one: you ask to be connected, and being connected means they receive enough to reach you. It is a person who passes the request on, from the record described above — this site does not stream your details to them automatically.

Nothing else leaves. Prospect records, field-work applications and account details are not sold, not shared for anyone’s marketing, and not handed to Powur.

We will disclose data where the law requires it or to protect the site and its users.

Where it is processed

Our providers run in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your data leaves those regions when you use the site; our providers offer standard contractual clauses or an equivalent recognised safeguard for that transfer.

How long we keep it

  • Consultation requests — kept for up to 18 months, then deleted; sooner if you ask. Every row carries the date it falls due, and the deletion is run as a scheduled operation by the site’s owner rather than automatically overnight — so treat 18 months as the outer bound, and the request form as the fast way.
  • Prospect records — the same: up to 18 months from the day they are created, then deleted, and sooner on request.
  • Sign-in links — a link itself stops working after 24 hours and after one use. The record that one was issued is kept for up to 90 days.
  • Scan records for a QR code — up to 18 months, then deleted.
  • Your account and your field-work application — kept for as long as the account exists. There is no automatic expiry on them — ask us and they go.

When you ask us to delete your data we erase or anonymise it unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to delete your personal data, send you a copy of it, correct it, or stop using it for a particular purpose — and you can withdraw any consent you gave. Residents of the EEA and the UK have these rights under the GDPR; residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and the other US states with consumer-privacy laws have them under those laws. We do not sell or share personal data for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, and we never treat you differently for exercising a right.

The quickest route is the delete-or-request-your-data page. You can also email hq@solarstrive.com. We reply within 30 days — usually far sooner — and we verify that you control the address before acting. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and you can complain to your local data-protection authority (the ICO in the UK; your state attorney general in the US).

Consent for the solar partner

The consultation form carries a consent box, and the exact words you tick are stored on your record along with a version number. That is deliberate: a consent record that stores only “yes” cannot later show what was actually on the screen. If we change the wording we publish a new version rather than editing the old one, so a record from last year still reflects what its person saw.

What you agree to, in plain words: you are asking Solar Strive to connect you with a solar installation partner, and you agree that Solar Strive and that partner may contact you about it by phone, text message and email at the details you gave. You are told, in the same box, that Solar Strive does not sell, permit or install solar itself, that it never gives a professional opinion about your property, and that agreeing is not a condition of buying anything.

You can withdraw that consent at any time — reply STOP to a text, or email hq@solarstrive.com and say so. That address is the one the consent text points at. Withdrawing consent stops us and our partner contacting you; if you also want the underlying record gone, ask for deletion and we will do both.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email hq@solarstrive.com and we will delete it.

Security

Connections are encrypted, sign-in tokens are signed and expire, database access is server-side only and restricted by credential, and we keep the amount of data we hold small on purpose — the clearest example being the photos on a prospect record, which are measured and fingerprinted and then discarded rather than stored. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are announced on the site before they take effect.
